Frequently asked questions
Is my data safe?
Yes. Connection secrets for optional Wise/Plaid sync are encrypted at rest, and every request runs over an encrypted connection. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from Settings.
Do you store my bank login?
No — never. SpendWise doesn't ask for your online banking username or password, for import or for sync. Auto-sync uses Wise's and Plaid's own secure connection flow; we only ever receive an authorized token, not your credentials.
What happens to a statement after I upload it?
We parse it for transaction data — date, amount, description — and then discard the original file. We don't retain the PDF or CSV you uploaded.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Paid plans are month to month with no lock-in — cancel anytime and you'll keep read access to your data on the Free plan.
Does the free plan really support multiple currencies?
Yes. Unlimited accounts and currencies are available on every plan, including Free. Paid plans add automatic syncing and premium FX handling on top of that.
